Miley Cyrus Wins Top Awards at Kid's Choice Awards

Miley Cyrus walked away from Saturday Night's Kid's Choice awards with the Favorite TV Actress and Favorite Female Singer Awards. Her show, Hannah Montana, also nominated for Favorite TV show but lost to Drake and Josh. Miley thanked her family, friends and God.

Later in the night little Miss Cyrus also performed live. The kiddie Oscars are kinda fun! Like Miley, I would NOT want to get slimed!

Last year, Miley also won the favorite TV star Kid's Choice Award.

Nickelodeon registered 88 million online votes for their annual Kid's Choice Awards.

In related news, the Jonas Brothers won for “Favorite Band”.

Billy Ray Cyrus Ready To Shoot Hannah Montana Movie

Billy Ray Cyrus was thrilled when Disney decided to shoot the upcoming "Hannah Montana" movie in Tennessee, meaning he'd be able to work in his home state. Now he's even more excited about the picture, because he's seen an updated version of the script and thinks it's a winner.

After seeing the latest version of the script for Hannah Montana Movie, The father of the wildly popular Miley Ray Cyrus says he is ready to fire up the cameras.

"Immediately after the writers' strike ended, Disney put their A-team on finishing this script and taking it to the next level," he told The Tennessean. "They '10-folded' the script that was there. It's 10 times better than it was, and it started off great. I just love the direction of it. The people are getting into place. The infrastructure to make this movie is now in town."

Shooting for the picture begins in May, which has been a creative inspiration for Billy Ray. When he found out it was set for the Volunteer State, he wrote a new song, "Back To Tennessee," and it's now slated to appear in the movie and become the theme for the TV competition "Nashville Star," which he'll be hosting beginning in June.

Meanwhile, daughter Miley Cyrus has also got some additional TV time of her own plotted out for the summer. She'll appear in New York during NBC's "Today" show concert series on July 25. Also pegged for "Today" are Kenny Chesney on June 13 and Rascal Flatts on July 11.

Jonas Brothers Ticket Buying Frenzy Begins

The Jonas Brothers are set to begin their "Burning Up Tour" this summer, and fans get ready to burn up the ticket sales counters this Saturday.

Jonas Brothers concert tickets regularly become sold out within minutes of going on sale, so thousands of people are flocking to the Fan Club website to join. The Fan Club, known as Team Jonas, membership allows members to purchase tickets for the summer tour early, while the general public will have to wait until this Saturday. But now many Fan Club members are complaining that the seats are less-than-desired. Fans are wondering if the Fan Club only has blocks that are not the best seats in the house, and the best seats are saved for higher paying Ticketmaster customers.

Either way, one can only expect similar frustration and ticket scalping problems that seems to be the norm in these crazed scrambles to get tickets for these tween and teen Disney Channel idols.

If you've somehow escaped their spell the brothers Jonas are a pop-culture phenomenon that the Washington Post calls a "youthquake."

The rocking Jonas Brothers - which feature 15-year-old Nick, 18-year-old Joe and 20-year-old Kevin — just didn't jump into the tween radar without a little help. The trio owes a lot to another popular favorite: Miley Cyrus, a.k.a. "Hannah Montana." The hot Disney star featured the well-dressed brunette boy band on her TV program, as the opening act on a recent tour, and on the big screen as part of her red-hot 3D concert film.

As a result, the brothers' pin-up popularity skyrocketed, as young girls across the country fell for their boyish good looks combined with talent and a pop-rock sound.

They have the phenomenal album sales, a sizzling hot summer tour, Monday they performed at the White House Easter Egg Roll, tonight they're the guest performers on "Dancing with the Stars", they have a new Disney Channel Original Movie called "Camp Rock" that will be released soon (the official trailer will air on Sunday, April at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT), and Disney Channel is working on a reality series titled "Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream."

It does indeed seem that Jonas Brothers World Domination has begun!

10 Things About Zac Efron You Might Not Know About (or want to!)

1. Zachary David Alexander Efron was born in California 20 years ago, the eldest son of power plant workers David and Starla. He has a 16-year-old brother Dylan, with whom he admits he used to have "full-on fist brawls".

2. One of Zac's early roles was on ER. Unfortunately, his character died on the operating table!

3. Zac had a poster of supermodel Tyra Banks on his bedroom ceiling when he was a boy. "I had that famous poster of her in a purple bathing suit in my room seventh or eighth grade", he recalls. "I thought she was so hot. She was my first love".

4. But who floats Zac's boat these days? Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul, Summerland co-star Lori Loughlin and Jessica Alba are top of his list. And, it goes without saying, his sometime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens.

5. The dog tag Zac wears around his neck was a present from Ms Abdul from her very own jewelry collection. It says "Reach for the Stars" on the front and "You might just become one!"

6. Zac turned down a record deal from Simon Cowell, telling him, "Acting is my main priority."

7. Zac's pals nicknamed him "Hollywood", but blogger Perez Hilton oped for the more feminine "Zacquisha" as part of an ongoing attempt to out him as gay.

8. Zac says screen legend Liza Minelli is one of his greatest inspirations. Hmm, that may not do much to alleviate those rumours!

9. Zac assures us that fame hasn't gone to his head and he's still a regular guy. I could show you 500 kids in LA who are my height, weight, hair color and age. Were a dime a dozen," he says. "Why did I get the parts I did? Who knows? But the minute I start thinking its because I was special, thats when I know I'm in trouble.

10. What is Zac's party trick? "I can blow bubbles with my spit," he boasts. Ewwww!

Jonas Brothers Get Disney Channel Reality Show

Disney's plan for Jonas total world domination continues as it was announced today that there will be a new Reality Series starring Nick, Joe, and Keven.

The series, which is shooting under the working title "Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream," will follow the on- and off-stage lives of the platinum selling trio on their current Look Me in the Eyes tour. The series is set to debut in the spring and will give fans unfettered access to the lives of the Jonas brothers as they travel the world. Fans can share the experiences with the Jonases on the tour bus, as they rehearse and perform, go sky-diving and race go-carts. It also will follow them as they interact with their parents and younger brother, Frankie aka "Bonus Jonas".

The Jonases have a huge following among girls. After the August release of their self-titled sophomore album, on Disney-owned Hollywood Records, they joined Miley Cyrus on her sold-out Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds concert tour, which kicked off in October and ended in January. The brothers embark on their Burning Up tour this summer.

This news is only the latest in Disney's master plan for Jonas extreme superstardom. In addition to their million-selling album last summer, the brothers Jonas are set to record a third album, begin production on another TV show called J.O.N.A.S! (Junior Operatives Networking As Spies), and a TV movie, Camp Rock, will hit the air in June.

Ashely Tisdale Confesses Blonde Was Better

Ashley Tisdale says going blonde was the key to her success

Ashley TisdaleHigh School Musical star Ashley Tisdale has revealed the secret of her success - going blonde.

The 22-year-old actress, known for her role as ‘Sharpay’ in the hit Disney show - was originally a brunette - but only got her big break after changing her hair color.

She said: “It suits my personality. I guess I was a brunette with a blonde personality.

“I have been blonde for a while now.

“At first it was really shocking and I didn’t know what to think, it felt like another person in the mirror. But now I am comfortable with it.

“But blondes aren’t dumb. I am smart and I don’t think all of us are ditzy.”

Changing hair color has clearly worked wonders for Ashley; in just under three years, High School Musical - which is set for the big screen later this year - has turned the young singer/actress from a virtual unknown into a global superstar and her debut pop album ‘Headstrong’ has sold more than a million copies.

But despite her success, Tisdale insists that she is nothing like spoiled, selfish brat Sharpay - and is determined to avoid the traps that have snared teen idols such as Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan whose soaring success has led to wild behaviour and stints in rehab.

She said: “I don’t drink, I don’t smoke and I don’t go clubbing so a lot of those problems go away. The difference is I play young but I am 22 and have been in this business since I was three years old. It just depends how you were raised but success does come early for some people. Lindsay and Britney had success really early and that is a lot a pressure. For me, I am glad that it came at this time and I got to finish high school. I know who I am and what I want from life and I am mature about life. I am able to go out there and get what I want.”

Jonas Brothers Rock Nation's Capital

The Jonas Brothers were busy last night doing what they do best - entertaining a sold-out crowd in Washington DC as part of their Look Me in the Eyes tour.

Joe, Nick and Kevin took to the stage amid wild cheers from the Patriot Center fans, who were pushing forward to get just a little bit closer to their rocker idols.

In related news, the brothers are getting anxious to release their third album, and are debuting four new songs on the tour.

“We’re so excited about it,” Nick said. “It’s really sounding great. We have some more Elvis Costello and Prince influences on it, and some of the Rascals and the Animals. And the song writing is mature as far as chord structure. But, not lyrical content, we’re not drifting off into the abyss.”

He added, “We’re just the same guys writing about the same type of, either heartbreak or great times or whatever it is. But we’ve really kind of tried to expand our horizon when it comes to the style of music and all that. So it’s really cool. We’re happy with the way it sounds.”

The Jonas brothers are also starring in their own new Disney Channel show called J.O.N.A.S! - Junior Operatives Networking as Spies. And fans are anxiously waiting the release of the Disney Channel Original Movie, "Camp Rock" starring the Jonas Brothers with an appearance by "Bonus Jonas" aka Little Frankie Jonas, the youngest of the Jonas brood.

Jonesing for the Jonas Bros!

Attention Connecticut: The Jonas Brothers are coming to town this week — twice, so STOCK UP ON EARPLUGS!

The young boy band will perform in Bridgeport and Wallingford on Sunday and Tuesday, respectively, and the halls will be alive with screaming. And, oh, yeah, music too.

"The screaming is constant, non-stop, and there's not one minute of silence during the show," the band's Kevin Jonas recently told the Orlando Sentinel. "It's pretty intense."

The rocking Jonas Brothers — which feature 15-year-old Nick, 18-year-old Joe and 20-year-old Kevin — just didn't jump into the tween radar without a little help.

Despite their success as a three-piece outfit, the Jonas Brothers' origins are not as a trio. In fact, the band began as a single act. Young Nick performed on Broadway, with performances so impressive he secured a record deal with Columbia Records.

The label decided a new boy band might be in the cards, so the two brothers were also signed up. With a devoutly religious family, the group started out with a Christian bent. But soon straight-up pop rock won the band over.

"It's just where the music led us," Nick Jonas told Entertainment Weekly. "I think we can make a bigger impact in the Top 40 world."

But that impact didn't arrive immediately. The band's debut album, "It's About Time," sold a disappointing 62,000 copies and the group asked to be released from its contract. Not long after, Disney's Hollywood Records found the trio and the band's eponymous disc was recorded.

The label promoted the disc by giving the cute musicians a high-profile TV spot. The Jonas Brothers appeared on the "Hannah Montana" show that aired immediately following the Disney Channel debut of the highly anticipated flick "High School Musical 2." Nearly 11 million viewers tuned in to that show and saw the newest boy band.

Within months, the band had a platinum album on its hands.

With its Miley Cyrus-connection, the Jonas Brothers popularity grew and Live Nation offered up a two-year tour, which stops in the state this week.

And the excitement doesn't end at each concert's encore.

The Jonas Brothers have three upcoming projects on the Disney Channel: a TV movie, "Camp Rock," in June; a behind-the-scenes reality show set to air later this year; and in the fall, a scripted series titled "J.O.N.A.S." where they will play secret agents whose cover is as a teen band.

A third CD is already recorded and is due out in June.

And that means the chances are very good that earplugs will be required again soon.

Miley Cyrus Wears Diabetes Dog Tag For Nick Jonas

Miley Cyrus has been spotted wearing a diabetes alert dog tag to show support to her friend Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers who has the disease.

The teen sensation was snapped wearing the tag around her neck which is used to carry information about sufferers to help inform emergency services of their condition.

A source says: "She wants to use her fame to bring attention to the fight against the condition."

The Hannah Montana star has recently denied that she ever dated Nick, stating: "No one knows we were ever together, so how could we break up if we were never together... No one has proof... We aren't broken up and we're not together.”

They would make a very cute couple if they did go out.

Zac Efron Saw Ghost on Movie Set!

Zac Efron is convinced he had a supernatural experience on the set of his new movie Me And Orson Welles.

The 20-year-old actor is currently filming on the Isle of Man with Claire Danes, 28, and the pair are convinced they saw a ghost while shooting scenes in the Gaiety Theatre, which is said to be haunted.

Now the High School Musical star has become the butt of jokes among the crew, who keep winding him up about his spooky encounter.

Disney Star Tony Oller Talks High School Musical 3 Audition

You may not know who Tony Oller is…yet.

But if his High School Musical 3 audition goes the way that he’s hoping, the star of the Disney Channel short series As the Bell Rings may be a household name by the end of the year. Oller recently posted on his MySpace blog that he climbed the ladder through three rounds of auditions for HSM3 and got to do a screen test as well.

He was auditioning for what he called his “dream role” as a new addition to the High School Musical gang, a new character named Jimmie “The Rocket” Soto. The new guy “plays basketball and he wants to be like Troy,” according to Oller. “I worked really hard and did my best. So now I hope and pray I get it,” he confided.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year is scheduled for theatrical release on October 24, 2008.

Miley Ray Cyrus

Birth Name: Destiny Hope Cyrus

Date of Birth: 23 November 1992, Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Nickname: Smiley, Miley

Height: 5' 6" (1.68 m)

Miley Ray Cyrus was born in Franklin, Tennessee, the daughter of Leticia "Tish" (née Finley) and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, and the granddaughter of the late Ron Cyrus. She has two elder half-brothers, Christopher Cody and Trace, the latter being the vocalist and guitarist of an electronic rock band, Metro Station in California. She also has an older half-sister, Brandi, a younger brother, Braison, and a younger sister, Noah, who is also an actress. She was named Destiny Hope because her parents believed that she would accomplish great things.[3] Cyrus gained her nickname "Miley" because she kept smiling ("Smiley") as a youngster. Cyrus attended Heritage Middle School, and now has a private tutor. She grew up on her parents' farm outside of Nashville.

Cyrus became interested in acting at age nine when the family briefly lived in Toronto, Canada. Her first acting role was as a guest star on her father's television series Doc, in which she played a girl named Kylie. In 2003, she played "Young Ruthie" in Tim Burton's Big Fish and was credited as Destiny Cyrus. She was also featured in Rhonda Vincent's music video for "If Heartaches Have Wings", and appeared on Colgate Country Showdown with her father, who was hosting the program.

Cyrus was eleven years old when she originally auditioned for Disney for the lead as well as the "best friend" roles. Disney Channel executives then judged her to be "too small", however Miley was persistent in her desire to be part of the show, so Disney called her back for further auditions when she turned 12. According to Disney Channel Executive Vice President Gary Marsh, Cyrus was chosen for Hannah Montana because of her energetic and lively performance and was seen as a person who "loves every minute of life", with the "everyday relatability of Hilary Duff and the stage presence of Shania Twain". She spent several years to get rid of her Southern accent, but in the end Disney wanted her to revive it. Later in an unusual twist, Cyrus had to audition her own father, Billy Ray Cyrus, to see if he would fit the role as Hannah's dad. Cyrus currently stars in Hannah Montana as the lead character Miley Stewart, whose alter ego is the pop music sensation Hannah Montana.

Cyrus performed both as herself and in character as Hannah Montana on a North American Best of Both Worlds Tour that started on October 18, 2007 in St. Louis, Missouri; the tour was extended, due to high demand, until January 31, 2008, with 69 total dates, 14 more than previously planned. The Jonas Brothers were the opening act for most of the tour. Tour tickets for each date sold out in record time after they went on sale, disappointing large numbers of fans.

Cyrus is good friends with fellow Hannah Montana co-stars Emily Osment and Mitchel Musso, often texting and conference calling each other during busy days. Miley Cyrus also taught Emily Osment how to play the guitar and Osment taught Cyrus how to knit. She is also friends with the stars of the highly successful TV movie High School Musical, including Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody stars including Brenda Song. In an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, she stated that she looks up to Hilary Duff as her role model. On January 29, 2008 Miley Cyrus officially changed her name to "Miley Ray Cyrus," her middle name reflecting that of her father's.

In an interview with USA Today, Cyrus was quoted as saying her faith is "the main thing" and is the reason why she works in Hollywood. When interviewed by Parade, she added that she attends church regularly with her family. In an interview to Christianity Today, Billy Ray said, "Being Christian, we believe in heaven" and "We also had a great church, and when you give up your church, your pastor, and the community you are involved in, you're making a big sacrifice. Let's face it, Hollywood is a completely different environment than Franklin, Tennessee". She also has many pets, including horses, dogs, cats, fish, and chickens.

Currently Miley is working on a movie spin-off from Hannah Montana, titled The Hannah Montana Movie which is due to be released early 2009.

She later attended Saguaro High School for part of her freshman year before moving to Los Angeles. She is an alumna of Valley Youth Theatre. At the age of 19, she now resides in Los Angeles, California. On December 21st 2007, she revisited her middle school, Mohave, where she talked and signed autographs.

While Chelsea Staub grew up she spent most of her time reenacting "The Princess Bride" and living in the land of make-believe. When Chelsea was six years old, she watched her best friend's sister perform in a community play and immediately wanted to try out for the next production. She was a nervous wreck during the entire audition process, but it all paid off when she was cast in her first role in "child ensemble!" She had one line, but the second Chelsea heard the laughter and applause, she was hooked.

Chelsea signed up for a summer "That's Entertainment" camp where she met Marilyn Carroll, the camp director. Though she loved doing shows and was comfortable in the ensemble, Chelsea would always chicken out when it came time to audition for the lead roles. Marilyn pushed Chelsea out of her comfort zone when she cast Chelsea as "Annie". Chelsea then began to try out for bigger roles and eventually landed a Broadway tour with Tom Bosley. While rehearsing and performing with this amazingly talented cast, Chelsea realized she had "found her people" and this was what she wanted to do with her life.

For nine years, she did show after show and camp after camp while enjoying school activities and remaining a full-time student. There were countless nights when Chelsea was doing homework in the wings between song and dance numbers. But she still wanted more! At 15, Chelsea finally convinced her parents to take her to Los Angeles during the fall break to audition for something - anything! They agreed, thinking Chelsea would see how hard it was and would quit bugging them about it. As luck would have it, Chelsea Staub booked a role on a TV series. and so it began.

Disney Channel History

Disney Channel's first broadcasting day aired on April 18, 1983. At the inception, the Disney Channel only aired 18 hours a day from 7:00 AM to 1:00 AM. 24-hour programming would begin in December 1986. The channel's programming on the first day on the air was an episode of the 1950s-era Mickey Mouse Club.

During the 1980s, the channel debuted a few programs that later became part of the cultural lexicon of sorts. Early in the network's existence, in 1984, the musically-oriented sitcom Kids Incorporated became popular. In early 1989, The Disney Channel revived one of Disney's early TV staples with The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, which was an immediate hit and proved the basic Disney variety show formula could still work, unlike in the short-lived 1970s revival. This edition contained many of the features of the original, however the music was updated for a different generation of viewers.

In 1997, Disney Channel took on a revamped look and dropped the "The" in the network's name, and split the network into three programming blocks—Playhouse Disney, comprising shows aimed at preschoolers; Vault Disney, featuring classic Disney material such as Zorro, The Mickey Mouse Club, the Disney anthology television series, older television specials and features such as The Love Bug; and the most distinct one, running from afternoon to late evening, called Zoog Disney, aimed at preteens and young teenagers up to the age of 15.

While Disney Channel moved from premium cable to basic cable on January 1997, most of the design elements changed three years later. The Zoogs were redesigned, and a new channel logo (which featured a 1930s-era Mickey Mouse on a black Mickey ear-shaped TV), was introduced in 1997. In 1998, Zoog Disney was introduced to Disney Channel meaning they would have two logos, the "Disney Channel TV" logo, introduced in 1997, and the Zoog Disney logo, introduced in 1998. The two logos lasted from 1998 till 2002, when Zoog Disney was removed and Disney Channel introduced its current logo. The vintage material aired under the Vault Disney banner was also discontinued as of September 9, 2002.

From 2000 through 2003, ratings grew higher with such shows as Even Stevens, That's So Raven, Kim Possible, Lizzie McGuire and others. Lizzie McGuire became the network's banner show, and was the highest-rated program on the network. Reruns of Lizzie continued to out rate competing shows, including those from Disney Channel itself.

On January 20, 2006 "High School Musical" was aired on Disney Channel. It is one of the most successful Disney Channel Original Movies ever produced, with a television sequel released on August 17, 2007 and a feature film sequel "High School Musical 3: Graduation day in the pre-production process. The film's soundtrack was the best-selling album in the United States for 2006. The film was shot almost entirely in the Wasatch Front in Utah (namely Salt Lake City and Murray). This was Disney Channel's most successful movie at its time with 7.7 million viewers in its premiere broadcast in the US. High School Musical 2 brought in a total of 17.2 million viewers in the United States — almost 10 million more than its predecessor—making it, at the time, the highest rated basic cable broadcast in U.S. history.

On March 24, 2006 "Hannah Montana", which is an American Emmy Award-nominated children's television series starring Miley Cyrus, debuted on Disney Channel. The popularity of the show has far exceeded the expectations of the studio and has become a worldwide sensation. In addition to the high ratings of the TV series, concerts for Hannah Montana have also been exceedingly popular. Tickets for every concert have sold out, with some later being scalped for thousands of dollars. The shows attract much attention, with an example being the attendance of Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich who later admitted to having watched every single episode.

Upcoming completed and planned projects for Disney Channel include the films Minutemen, Camp Rock, Dadnapped, The Cheetah Girls 3: Indian Adventure, Hannah Montana: The Movie, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, and the television series J.O.N.A.S! starring the highly popular Jonas Brothers.
